Well guys - Sunday will be 3 weeks since I purchased may Mako. I have had cushions made, replaced and/or repaired all hatches, pumped out old gas, gave motor tune-up, cleaned carbs, replaced water pump, rewired, ect....And Sunday I will put it in the water for the 1st time. I CAN"T WAIT!!! This will just be a fun run to see how she runs and handles, then pull her out and sand and paint the bottom - I will be fishing before too long.

WOW!!! - I could have never expected it to be so good. The difference between a 16 Cape Horn and almost 23 Mako is unbelievable. I ran in a good 2 foot chop and it was like running in the river. My buddies with late model boats were all screaming with BOAT ENVY. I got alot of looks and people inquiring as to the type of boat - I haven't decided if I want to put Mako on the boat b/c w/o people ask and I like talking about. My only complaints are; definately need trim tabs and when I repower will increase horsepower (with a boat load I ran ~35mph). For a boat that size I know that is plenty fast, but I will be happier with a 250. I hope to have pictures soon!

Trim tabs are a must. What kind of power do you have on there now? And where are the pictures??!!! []

It currently has a '93 Johnson 200. Mechanic is amazed at condition of motor - it sat for 2 years before Eric purchased and has sat for 2 before I purchased - low hours for age, but is still very gas thirsty. I had carbs cleaned, tuned up, and replaced water pump and she ran like a dream. I purchased Eric Nelon's boat (in project boats) Most all work I have done has been inside - repairing hatch hole, replacing hatches, rewiring, restoring teak, etc....

Glad to see it ran well.

I wish I had taken the time to put tabs on mine this winter. Oh well, there is always next year.

I am glad to hear your happy with it, I sure love mine.
