  • 1977 21' Mako

I may have the opportunity to trade my Boston Whaler 1978 Montauk for a 1977 21’ Mako. Does anyone here own this hull? How long did Mako make the hull and is it the same 21’ as the 80s hull? Anything bad about this model to look for? I have always loved the Mako hulls and have looked at a lot of older Makos. Any thoughts on this model. Thanks, Archie

It is similiar, but not the same. I beleive that the deadrise is the same. The LOA is like 21'3" as opposed to the 21'7" of the Mako 21B that I have. That is made up in the aft storage compartments on the transom corners. That is basically what makes the 21B what it is... is the addition of the aft compartments. The fuel capacity and the rest of the stuff is the same as far as I know aside from some minor differences in the hull cap... especially at the bow.
