    i'm looking at a 1974 23 foot mako and am looking for info on the ride, it has a bracket with a 2003 suzuki 225. any opinions? I'm keeping Child Seaport it's just something to hold me over untilI get the big girl in the water.

    Well.........not that great.

    I've heard that trim tabs make a big diff., but without them kinda

    HARD POUNDING.

          I believe it is a 12 degree V. I had a 19 Aquasport that was similar deadrise. It went like a son of a gun on flat water. With a 225 you better hang on when you pin the throttle...but in a chop expect to throttle way down or pound. Economical to run as it would push easy. Not an answer from direct experience you probably are looking for, but a close comparison. As with any older hull you know the drill....how's the tank, wiring, etc 'cause you don't want another project to distract you from the 25?

            tank was done when he put the 225 on it in 2003, pretty much redid the whole boat
