  • Live Well Leaky

My live well appears to take on rain water fairly easily, which concerns and annoys me. I've recently bought the boat, and I cant quite figure out where the valve to let the water flow out the hull is located. This is on a 78 23'. That question aside, what are some options for making this thing watertight.

I see that armstrong has a 10"x20" hatch (live well is 9.5x19.75 I think), and I'm wondering how complicated that install would be. For a short-term fix, would alot silicone help foster a better seal? What about some type of rubber stripping?

To add to this--I can simply insert a 1" plug in the thru-hull to solve the issue of water intrusion from the sea yes? I will not be using this as a live well, of course.
