  • Source for spark plugs

Of course, I had to get the outboard that uses the most expensive plugs known to man.

    $21 at west marine. UGH

Anyone have a good online source for NGK or Champion plugs cheap?

    Thanks

    Zac S,

You didn't state the part # for your plug. I use a NGK BPZ8-H-N10 (BPZ-4495) These guys are very expensive everywhere i've looked. I found prices such as 14.95 at West Marine and many other places well over 10 bucks. I found the best price at [email protected] $6.44 ea. Napa, AutoZone and the like didn't have them.

I've heard to go with what the manufacturer recommends, don't cross to other makes of plugs. Hope this helps.

As soon as it's termed "marine" there is the 2x factor that is added to the price. The marine chain stores are not exactly helpful in offering good deals either. Buyer beware.

sorry for the lack of info

              NGK - p/n PZFR6H - Stock# 7696

              Champion - XC12PEPB - Stock# 955

FYI, at west marine, the NGK are $21 a piece + tax. At sparkplugs.com they are $12 + shipping.

They didn't have the Champions in stock at west, and at sparkplugs.com they are $5.14. I will buy the champions.

              8 (2 spares) x $5.14 = $41.12 + $8.70 shipping (ouch) = $49.82

              West would have been 21 x 8 x 1.07 = $179.76

THANKS DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just saved me 130 bucks!!!!

Go to your local auto supply store and ask them to special order them for you if they don't already have them on the shelf. They may ask you to buy several boxes (of 10) to make it worth their while, but you probably will be able to get the plugs a lot cheeper that West Marine. I did this years ago on the NGK BR9HS10's for my Yamaha and have saves many, many dollars because of it.
