How much are you guys paying for insurance. I checked online with Progressive and they want $2,200 for ACV and $2,700 for agreed value. Seems like alot of money .

The liability portion is only a few hundred.

ACE Boatmens policy, $600 per year. $15,000 agreed value policy. I do get a discount though because I am a licensed captain.

I'm paying about $300 for the year with a $10,000 boat value with full coverage. This is through USAA, but you can only get insurance with USAA if you are, or have been a military officer (or dependant of one).

USAA has GREAT rates; my fiance is a member (and soon I shall be too).

Back to the original post, that number is odd--I was quoted $710 for a similar mako w/ a 225. And, my driving record is far from perfect.

I am also with USAA (started in 1967) and think I am paying about $500 per year for the boat. I think that's for $25,000 personal and full coverage on the boat, motor and trailer which is valued at about 10K. Good point, however - we all should take another look at our policys and see if they are still OK for the 2005-2006 boating season.
