Sure, a splinter boat would be Welcome, as long as its not a stick in the mud...[88] yuk yuk,

When Mako dropped the ball a number of years ago, a lot of our friends grew into S.O.B. boats.

      "affectionately called S.ome O.ther B.rand or B.oat...[:0]

When Mako was footing the bill the only rule at a Funament was that your on or in a Mako. Now that its our nickle, and they (Mako)are now part of a big S.O.B. company... why not invite a family who now owns a Scout, or Contender, or even Bayliner... Our Club is 57 families strong, our members own everything from big cruisers to pontoons.

I should also add that your Welcome even if you don't own a boat!

or not a member of any club! Something we did find years ago at Mako Funaments, some really great folks, families, friends and comradery... The name brand on the hull did'nt matter, its was just another commonality to our pleasures!

We look forward to seeing old and meeting new friends at Funaments.

The 25th annual Crystal River Funament will be dedicated to honor

Mr. Bill Munro, The "Father of the Funaments"

I went to several of the Walker's Cay Mako owner's tournaments on my Mirage back when Bill Munro from Ande was running the events for Mako. My '72 17' Mako did not want to cross with us but we were welcomed anyway. These shindigs were always a ton of fun with folks coming from all over the US to get together. I'll bet this Crystal River deal will be a blast and look forward to seeing you there.

Oh the mention of Bill Munro.. those were the good old days. [] It's a shame that great things don't last forever. What a great guy, and what a great deal Mako had going.

                      Great News:

Mako Marine Has committed to assisting the Manasota Club with our 3 Funaments this year!

Details are being worked out for how the Funaments will fit into next years budget process and how local dealers can assist local clubs.

As some of you know the South Florida Club fell apart and Manasota Added Marathon in the Keys to our schedule.

We Have Kept the Funament tradition alive after their departure and now the New Mako Management is ready to get back on board.

Details and logistics are being worked out as to their involvement for next year, and it sounds like The Clubs will all get some sort of assistance in their "Family Funaments".

We Would Like to invite All who can come, to our Funament Next week and actually Meet a VIP of the company. (Its also durring the Sarasota in-water Boatshow.

We (MSMOC)will be Happy to assist anyone trying to revive, or start up a Club and Offer our Website as a free conduit and calendar to all official groups. Our Funament experiance is availabe to you also.

We (MSMOC) will gladly "Liason" those Clubs Wishing to be "Mako Marine Authorized" to the appropriate Mako Funament Director for the moment until the position has been fully established.

Don't forget, our Annual Mana-Sota Family Funament is coming up in just two weeks! April 22-23

If you are planning to attend, please RSVP by 4/17/05 with head count and t-shirt sizes.

We will plan on some extras for "walk ups" last minute entrys.

Note there is a change in plans, the Captain's Meeting and Registration will NOT be held at the Holiday Inn as it has in the past. It will now be at Travis Marine, just north of the Holiday Inn on US41, just over the Bowles Creek bridge on the East side of 41.

                      Registration 4pm Captains Meeting 6pm

As always, fishing Friday will count.

Also, we still need volunteers to help us host our three great Funaments this year, so if you can help, please e-mail Jim or Bryan.
