  • Mounting outboards on bracket

    I have a 93 Mako 233 Walk-Around with the bracket and twin 140 Suzuki

    4 stokes.

How high should the Cavitation plate above the bottom of the hull?

I have "heard" 1 inch for every 12 inches of bracket.

    Does this sound correct?

Also how hard is it to move the motors up? and how do you do it?

    Thanks

1" of rise for every 12" of run is the rule of thumb. With the motor mounted to the transom of a boat, you'll generally want the anti cav. plate about 1/4-1/2" above the keel bottom.

Moving the motors up and down is no big deal... Just need a motor hoist of some sort. I rent a hydraulic motor hoist for $30... Un bolt and clean up the old sealant, put new sealant and bolt back in the next hole up or down...
