I'm just buying a new 252 Mako and wonder if anyone could tell me how much water the boat will draw on a plane with a single 225 Yamaha 4 stroke??? Guesses are acceptable!!

You're going to need 3' of water to safely run that boat. It's a deep V, with a 23 degree deadrise I believe.

On another note -- with a single F225 that boat will be under powered. A single 300hp, or better, twin 150s would be a better option.

I own a Mako 252 and currently have it powered with a Honda 225. It will be underpowered as my top speed is 35mph and it takes all day to get on a plane.

I am repowering to twin 150's.

It draws a little over 2 feet on a plane.

That F225 is an amazing engine. But agree that it will be underpowered.
