  • Mako 260 Cuddy

Anyone have any opinions on this model boat? It is my understanding that it is the 261 hull, with a cuddy deck instead of a center console. How do they ride compared to the 261? I am thinking of buying one.

I rode on a Mako 260 that had the cuddy chopped off and was turned to a center console.... For what its worth, the hull rode great. It was abit lacking for weight forward since the cuddy was chopped off and the rest of the innerliner wasn't properly reconfigured to compensate for the weight differential. Add a bit of weight forward and it rode like a champ.

I do believe that the 260 and the 261 are the same hull with different liners.

If you do buy a Mako 260, I know of a very cool Hard top that was made for a Mako 260 and taken off after a month or so when he chopped the cuddy off. Its for sale.

I have a 1989 Mako 260 with twin 200 yamahas. It is an excellent

riding and fishing boat. It has alot of fishing room and handles

the seas very well. As for it being the same hull as the 261, I

don't think it is as it has a 28' centerline (excluding the bow pulpit). you will not be sorry if you buy this boat as long as

          the hull is solid.

Give James a call to see if its still available. This is the ad for the hardtop:
