I run a 17 x 14 1/4 on my 224 with a 225. If I remember right my 224 has a significantly deeper V in the hull than a 22B and mine is also significantly heavier when loaded with fuel and gear so my setup might not work for you.

Your motor should run @5500 rpms at full throttle and a full load. If you realy want to understand props there is a great web site called power tech. This site will explain rake, pitch, cup and all the things to help you get max performance.

            Had a 1978 22B. 1987 Evinrude 225. My numbers were:

            - 14 1/4 x 19 SS (Don't remember except was not SST but was a OMC prop)

            - 3800 RPM, 30 MPH

            - 5500 RPM WOT, 43 MPH

            - 2.5 MPG Average at cruise.
