  • full transom

I have made a few post about repowering. It seems to be a little easier to find a motor with a 25". So I have been wondering what it takes to enclose the transom notch. I really like the sounds of having a full transom too. If the transom is solid, do I need to take the whole wood core out to fill the notch. Or can I just fill the notch and glass. i need a little info on this project.

If what you have is solid. You could add to it. It's been our experiance that just 'cause it looks good, doesn't mean it is.

You can get a bracket here. http://www.dadmarine.com/pictures__info1.htm

I know if it looks good does't mean it is good. Is there any chance that a 1977 has a non water logged transom. wishful thinking

HeHe You know the answer to that, but I would do some exploring with a 1/8in drill bit. Start by the garboard plug.
