  • Live Well Shut-Off Valves

I'm trying to understand the live well plumbing in my '88 231.

The shut off valve in my live well spins freely to the left and to the right. Is the design just simply: if its parallel to the supply line its on, and perpendicular its off?

Any hints on the best way to replace the shut off valves if needed?

I have the same problem with an 84 238. The plumbing seems to be different than the owners manual.

It sounds like it is broken. If the valve handle is parralell to the line then it should be open and if it is perpendicular than it should be closed. I don't think it should go both ways. The ones that I have seen are simply the same pvc type line shut off valves from the hardware store.
