  • Repowering

With the price of fuel I think I finally got the push I needed to seriously look at repowering my 21 and stepping up from a 200HP to 225HP.

I am involved with a HS Crew team and we use all 9.9 Mercury Four Strokes on the Coaches Launches and they have taken a lot of abuse and keep on ticking.

Mercury is sure in the running. I am also looking at Suzuki which I can get a better deal on.

Does anyone have any experience with the larger Mercury Four Strokes or the Suzuki engines?

I don't own a Scout so Yammies are out of the question [] and Honda is way too expensive.

Anything else I need to consider beside weight issues if I switch to a four stroke?

I don't know how those heavy 4 strokers are gonna make that boat behave. Might look into the optimax line. Those will be coming down in price now that the 4 strokers are so hot. The Optimax is almost 100 lbs. lighter than the 4 strokes on the market. You can mount the oil tank in the console too.

      Thanks Eddie,

Do you still have that gas cap sitting there for me?

I was out of the country for a few months.
