  • SOLD SOLD 2003 Yamaha 250 HPDI

2003 Yamaha 250 HPDI in good overall shape but #2 cylinder is showing low compression. The lower unit was new about five years ago when I purchased the boat. Total hours is about 1,350. I have all the gauges and wiring harness - tach, speedo, temperature, water pressure, etc. You will need a throttle control as I'm keeping the twin Morse control. Prop is extra. I do have two cowlings and some extra parts, like two brand new low pressure fuel pumps. Comes with the 3.5 gallon oil reservoir as well. I replaced all filters at the beginning of the summer last year as I do each year. The trim does need new seals and the barnacles will come off with some barnacle buster. The motor is sitting in a crate and can be loaded into a truck or a trailer. Extra cowling is shown as the last two pictures and different then the one on the motor. Lower unit is five years old and only has 300 hours on it.

I just found out that one cylinder is showing low compression, so I am now selling this as a parts motor. If you can do the work yourself you can get a great deal, or if you want to part the motor out and make double or triple your money this could be a good deal.

    Here are the compression numbers:

    2 - 60 1- 105

    4 - 95 3 - 105

    6 -105 5-105

located in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Asking $1,750 but will work with CM members.

    Pictures are posted on THT.

I saw this on THT and didnt realize it was yours. I was thinking about it but not sure I need another project right now. Any idea on the low compression? Has the cyl been bore scoped? walls scored? maybe a reed valve issue?
