    mako madness 2006

    Has any thought or ideas been floating around for next summers get-togather. I promised Tim and a couple of his buddies if they make the honer roll all year I would bring them down. So far there holding me to it.[] Destin was really a wonderfull venue. This time I am going to spend a little more time. dave.

      I was actually thinking about it today. Not that I'll have my boat operational like I had hoped, but looking forward to the whole thing.

                  Tim isnt out of school till june 9th. The folowing week I would like to spend getting to and exploring florida, including Mako-madnes. Probably bring down a boat this time. Either Tims Quest or my Mako21 depending on gas prices at the time. Sailor any thoughts on a venue for next june?? Cant wait to see you all again. dave

                          For some reason I missed this post!!

                          Dave - I have definitely been planning on doing the Destin Funament later in the summer so that all the kids are out of school. Eddie and I will be talking more about it in the next couple of weeks and you guys will be the first to know what's going on.

                          I can tell you that this year my plans are bigger and more organized...and real prizes!

                              Great Sailor, on the prize subject, I have a idea. All of us boat-heads have a garage full of cool stuff. I am going to start putting togather items to donate as prizes. For instance I have a nice stainless merc. prop for a late model inline 4. A rod and real combo, lures ect./ I bet between us all we have some great stuff to swap around. Thanks for hosting last years event Steve, and looking forward to this years funament. dave/tim

                                      Change of plans ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I got off. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

                                      Just got a room with a view of the Harbor.

                                      Never used my AARP card. Got the room for $123.24 X 2 Nights and $131.74 X 2 Nights. I am kinda liking this card. AARP was cheaper than the government rate?????

                                      Brother-n-law and I are leaving Houston Wednesday AM. Should be about a 10-hour drive.

                                      Sorry Tim my daughter (fishin partner) can't make it. Her choir group is going to Canada for that week.

                                          Great to see you get to make it Larry. Just a word of advice to all traveling west to east. The I-10 Pensacola bridge is a nightmare. It's a 2 hr delay between 7-10 am and 3-6 pm. Plan to cross the bridge between 10am and 3 pm and you shouldn't have too long of a wait.

                                                          Larry, thanks for the offer, at this moment we are bringing our mako down as well. I have really struggled with this decision as the fuel and effort will be huge. Last year we had more fishermen than places on boats. This year is shaping up much better. I would welcome you to buddy up with us though. we are going to fish within 15 miles of destin pass at some of the wrecks mentioned. This is starting to really get exciting. FISH ON
