  • Built some beer paddles to donate for the raffle

Hey all, it's been a while!

I think Michigan Dave and I are going to try and make it down for the Destin Funament this year! Last time I brought some Classic Mako Homebrew (and might again this year, who knows) but this year I have been doing some more woodworking, so I thought I would make a few pieces to donate to the raffle. These are hand made, classic mako beer flight paddles. They are made with American Red Oak and stained with my favorite Honey 272 stain from Miniwax. They come with four 5-oz beer glasses. A total of 3 will be donated, but if you twist my arm enough I just might trade you one for a yeti. []

    Unfinished:

    Finished

    Cheers!

    Michigan Tim

Thanks sailor! Who knows, if that beer has been kept refrigerated it's probably still good! Hope to see you this summer.

They look awesome! Can I make a small suggestion? Make one in high gloss varnish in keeping with the boat theme as well as it would handle the moisture better.

I don't have a bottle in the fridge(I couldn't not drink it),but I do have an empty, unused bottle in my liquor cabinet.

                  Thanks all!

Yeah Doc, once the stain has had a chance to set in, I seal them with a nice semi-gloss polyurethane. I've always had good luck with that product and it puts a nice finish on them.
