As a first timmer I loved the event. My two things if I have a voice is the cpt meeting. Can it be Monday night? I came in on Sunday and after 9 hours of driving the kids wanted the beach and I missed the meeting and did not get the bag until Friday. The other thought is to have the event catered? The food was great but like said above it did take time away from vacation for the few that spent most of the day there.

Thanks to all for all your hard work

Good suggestions. The day of the captains meeting does not matter to me, if the group would rather meet monday I'm fine with it. On the surface I intended to have the captains meeting then everyone start fishing afterwards on monday, but maybe it does not matter that much.

On my end I get people calling me or asking me for their stuff all during the week as people arrive at different times, etc.

I did get quotes for catering this year. Basically the cost is double the budget if you add desert serving. When I reported the quotes to the cook staff they all said that was too much money and they would just rather do it themselves. The quote for ice cream and people to serve it was $636 and as it turned out, the candy table took out most of the interest in the ice cream.

I do think I like the idea of the captains meeting on Monday... Sunday is a majority travel day I think (as a ton come in on Sat/Sun) and as long as it starts on Father's day, we won't make it in until late afternoon due to the fact that we have to spend some time with the fathers our car full of females is leaving behind! We cut it very close this year! []

Although catering would make it easier, I agree it is awefully expensive! The prices given to you- not even counting the ice cream price- seemed a little steap. (I understand it is a lot of work so these prices were probably fair) but, I think if we were to take on catering we would DEFINATELY have to up the price a good bit! Aside from the hard work, I always enjoy the fellowship you see (although I'm not doing the hard work of cooking!) as the food is being prepared & cleaned up. Lots of working together, jokes & stories being told, and drinks consumed! [8D]

I think Josh did a great job! Tim and I are suckers for country also though! []
