  • THings just got intersting!!!!

Well not that I was already already jonesing to get to Destin today it just got EPIC! Just received 6 sets of numbers for some local snaper fishing from a charter farthest one is 17 miles and as close as 8. These are private numbers taht have not been used in 2 years. (back of mind hopes there not duds) but they are said to be stacked with red snapper this time of year. Can you say a week full of fresh fish..... So ready. Might have to make this a two week trip next year. Hope you all are ready for the snapper...LOL

Was just given four new radial tires on great rims for the trip!! How great is that? Just made the swap tonight and filled up tire pressure. Boat is getting close to lock down. I few minor touch ups and a final wash and a 5am departure Sunday morning and I will be taking a sunset cruise around Destin....

Don't know about y'all, but I doubt I will be going offshore this weekend. Marine forecast is saying 4-6 on saturday and 3-5 on Sunday.

Freddy, I know that is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but are you a diver?[] The boat might be able to take it, but the crew is another story. Suiting up & getting in and out of a boat in seas like that is not fun or safe. (Not to mention that Mrs. LastMango will have nothing to do with those conditions!) Used to go in all conditions in my younger days. Saw a diver get knocked unconscious when the transom came down on top of his head while he was getting ready to come up the ladder at the end of the dive. I'd like to think I am a little bit smarter now.[:I]

I guess my crew will be hanging around the jetties and Crab Island for the first few days. We will be there by Sunday for sure, but am trying to finagle a way to get there Saturday.

                          Saturday

East winds around 20 knots diminishing to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Bays and coastal waterways choppy to rough. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

                          Saturday Night

East winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bays and coastal waterways choppy to rough.

                          Sunday

Southeast winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bays and coastal waterways choppy to rough. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

                          Sunday Night

Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots becoming east after midnight. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.

                          Monday

East winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southeast around 15 knots in the afternoon. Seas 3 to 5 feet. Bays and coastal waterways a light chop.

Those conditions are just to keep everyone in check since I will not be there until Tuesday [:0][].

Conditions weren't exactly great for fishing while we were there last year, but I still managed to put my peeps on some fish. I really hope come mid-week things calm down and we can get out and do some real fishing.
