  • Update 4/12/05

I spoke with the Director of Sales at the hotel today and she assured me that the docks will be ready for our bash. She did ask how many slips we needed so there might be others coming down with boats. If you haven't already booked your room yet, I would recommend doing so soon.

Also, the Spanish are starting to show around here, so the kings can't be too far behind. One of my buddies went 9 for 14 on the cobias this weekend as well. May looks like it will be a good month!!

Well I got the call last week that the dock will not be done in time. [}] I went to the only other place in town that has a dock open and it was a dump with very little parking for trailers (or cars for that matter), so we will stay where we are.

The good news is that the dock is usable and only the first ten - 15 feet is not there. The water is really shallow at this point so someone is going to have to get wet every morning. [] The park is next door so you could launch every day (free launch) if you wanted. I haven't walked out on the dock, but I will do that this week as well as take pictures so you guys know what to expect.

The good news is that the fishing is pretty good right now. I drove by the docks at Destin the other afternoon and Snapper where everywhere along with a king or two. Most boats are cobia fishing right now and it has been pretty good.

The trout are starting to hit on the flats and I saw one report of a redfish caught in 100' of water when someone was bottom fishing!
