Important info regarding next year's funament

I wanted to post up and let everyone know that I am stepping down as the Funamnent Chairperson for the ClassicMako Funamnets and that David Bronson (TripleCrown) has agreed to step up and manage next year's funament. After six years I have had a great time hosting each year's event and I have had the opportunity to meet some really great people who have attended the events. I will still be assisting in the funament as possible, but will be taking a more behind the scenes role during the transitioning. I know that David will put on a fine event and I look forward to being able to actually participate in future funaments!

Let me be the first to thank Steve for 6 years of effort, stress, and sleepless nights leading into each years events so that the rest of us can relax and enjoy. I hope I am able to help out such that you can actually relax, enjoy the time, meet and chew the fat with CM members, and catch some fish. Thanks for everything Steve![]

Thanks Steve for your efforts over the years. I have made 3 of the events and had a awesome time each trip. This year with the oil situation left me wondering and second guessing for months. Looking forward to next year...

As someone who briefly lived in your shoes this summer, I can say that you have big feet. Steve has done a great job of turning nothing into something very special for so many people. It's a good thing David has big feet. I think this is a good passing of the tiki torch. Best of luck to you both!

Steve if it wasn't for you and your efforts I would have probably not made the great friends I have made through this site and for that I thank you. I'll never forget my 1st Funament when you were the 1st person we met when gassing up on way into town in Ft Walton and running to the edge and fishing together. You have given alot and started a great tradition. It seems every year interest grows and unfortunately the oil negatively effected this years which had potential to be biggest yet. I think things have been left in good hands and hope you can remain part of the tradition. THANKS AGAIN!

My Steve experience was a bit different than most, seeing that I have ever actually been to one of the events! I have registered for the Madness a couple of years, and everything from engine troubles, trailer issues, and house air conditioner compressors have gotten in my way of getting to Destin. This year, I watched the oil and made the tough decision to hold off. But every year that I registered, Steve sent me a complete Captain's bag with all the goodies. I told him repeatedly to keep my registration fee as a donation to the event, in the hopes that it would help cash flow and make the event more enjoyable for everyone that did make it. It never failed that I would come home from work about a week after the Madness, and there on my doorstep was a box full of great stuff.

I have my sights set on the next event, and we are looking at condos at SPC even as I type this. A week in Destin is looking good right about now! I will be bringing something other than a Mako, but I still look forward to meeting Steve, so I can thank him for bringing a bit of the event to me when I couldn't be there. Thanks, Steve!

Thanks for the kind words guys. It has always been the nice words after the events and the look on the kids faces when presenting them an award that kept me going. I look forward to all the future events and actually having time to swap fishing stories.

and a Tournament or events with other names.!

I enjoy looking at peoples faces as we pass them on the water in our Mainship with the Mako Stickers on the side...[][]
