  • Travel question - from west

For the past 2 years we have gone past P'cola (over Pensacola Bay) and taken the tollway to 98, but I remember the college days taking Jeep to PC and we always went through P'cola (110 to 98). Which route do you take? Looking at a map seems old route my be shorter, but probably takes longer b/c traffic and speed limits?

I used to go the "old" route, but towing the boat the tollway is MUCH easier. The roads on the old route are not the best and it's mostly 2 lane.

Just a reminder, the tollway rquires payment !! And they charge per axle !! And you shouldn't leave your wallet in the other car your wife is in to go ahead and check in. Those toll people just couldn't understand why a poor man in a 40K truck and a 25' boat couldn't come up with 5 bucks. And all I wanted to do was go fishin !! []

You guys can also take the Highway 87 route which is a two lane road highway which comes down through Navarre. Also, if you go to Crestview, Highway 85 is a very nice four lane highway with a 65 mph speed limit. Locals don't go across the Garcon Point bridge. [8D]
