  • Pre-funament days

I'm heading over to Destin for the Funament a few days early to pre-fish the high dollar tournament..... []

Found out today that my uncle that was planning to fish wioth me is probably going to have back surgery so he is a no-go. Looking for guys to fish Monday-Wednesday assuming the weather is nice. I'm planning to get out to some deeper water a troll in the morning for the ellusive white marlin. Then maybe come back in to actually have something pull on the line, then back at the home stead around 3:00.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

I am coming in on Saturday the 13th had hoped to stay thorugh Sunday, but the kids schedule is forcing us to leave the following saturday. I plan to register, but will not be there for the awards cook-out. I would love to get some local information since I have never been to Destin or have any idea about the fishing. If you could find some time to meet up and share some fishing info I would really appreciate it. It could make me look like hero in my kids eyes if I can actually find fish while we are there or at least act like I know what I am doing.

            Thanks

No problem. We will definitely get together and chat. One of the best things about Destin is there is only one way out/in through the pass, so it's easy to meet up with people/boats. []

It's 50/50 whether I'll be in town, what with moving to Vero Beach and memorial services in Virginia. Hoggercap's running, but not in offshore shape. I have several (about 6) reefs that I set in the last three years, half of them have never been checked; and all from 6 - 15 miles out the pass. I'd love to go fishing. I'll keep my eye on this thread.

I might know a guy that only goes to Destin once a year, wouldn't have to worry about cleaning out, that could check a couple of those out for you in a couple weeks [][8D].

From what I understand it will only be his wife and himself fishing 1 day, so they could only take 4 snapper [].

Alright, now y'all better be leaving some fish for the rest of us.

Chuck, if you want to run that far out again, maybe we could follow. Assuming the ride is nice. Dad has gotten picky in the last few years on the ride. If it's over 2' or 3' he wont go. I think he picked it up from Bobby. [B)]
