    Yup...how about this report:

“We had a lot of action,” Phillips said. “And of course, we threw back a bunch of big ones,”id="red"> he said referring to the red snapper which are off limits until June 1 due to closures.

Eleven-year-old Jack Guzman of Atlanta had his hands full reeling in a 35-pound cobia aboard the Suzie Q with Capt. Larry Jourdan.

However, young Guzman was quick to let me know that wasn’t the largest fish he has ever caught. He said he landed a 7-and-a-half-foot sailfish once.

The group of fisherman aboard the Melanie Dawn with Capt. Bud Miller brought in about 30 mingo, 10 triggerfish and a few grouper.

“We were busy fishing,” the mate said noting they had no problem hooking up with fish, but you can’t keep them all — mainly the red snapper.id="red">

Capt. Brian Howard on the Trade Winds came in from a four-hour trip with a nice rack of triggerfish, mingo, black snapper and white snapper.

They had grouper on the racks as well as several triggerfish in the 5- to 6-pound range. They also had 70-plus mingo.

But that’s not counting all they let go, mainly red snapper, but also five shark.

“We hooked five and got three to the boat,” Capt. Browning said. “One (a bull shark) was about 200 to 300 pounds. We got it to the boat, took some pictures, then released it.”

Anglers on the Gentle Winds with Capt. Greg Marler had a lot of action.

“We let lots and lots of 20-pound red snapper go,”id="size2">id="red"> Marler said.

However, they did bring in several mingo, some triggerfish, scamp, amberine and amberjack.

Capt. Eric Thrasher on the Daybreak and his crew brought in a huge haul of eight amberjack averaging about 30-pounds each, four grouper in the 10-to -15-pound range and a couple of black snapper. And of course they were busy tossing back about 30-head of red snapper.id="red">

It looks to me like there’s a lot of action going on. Some come on down and get in on it.

    See you at the docks.

Destin is going to bring Dad's 14 year restoration project to an end. No, it CAN NOT GET HERE SOON ENOUGH! If it were not for this website and its members, the boat would still be in the driveway making a great home to wasps. THANKS CM!

Now it's time to put faces with names![]

oh yeah, and run the boat[]

I hope that beer in the fridge is long gone before June.[]

Chuck - let me know if I can lend a hand. Sounds like in the other thread that your boat is usable - just not ready to jump off waves. There are plenty of inshore bottom spots and you don't need to run out there fast.
