  • Idea for 2009 Funament (need feedback)

I saw a great 3 page article on the Bertram 31 club meet in one of my boating magazines. I was wondering if we had any members that are contributing writers or could call a magazine (like Salt Water Sportsman) to come do an article on CM & the Funament in Destin next year?

What do you guys think? [?]

Now that dates are set, I was going to continue to contact several magazines to see if we could get an article written on the Funament as well as the website. Before I did so, I want to see if anyone had any contacts with any of the boating/fishing publications. George P. put me in touch with SWS and they editor in chief (Mako owner) was very cool but couldn't commit since there are so many other clubs that might get upset.

I was thinking about Florida Sportsman, Motor Boating, and maybe a few news papers (Desin Log). Let me know what y'all think? I'd like to see some exposure and get some of those beautiful boats showcased!

        Any luck Raybo?

Someone may have suggested this already and I missed the discussion, but since George P, does read these, I wonder if he would do one of his episodes out of Destin, George has done shows on fishing with kids, this could be fishing with clubs/organizations and family gatherings associated with boating. It's probably a stretch, but thought the old Mako Fundament trips the manufacture supported way back in the day, coupled with Fl fishing and families would market to Mako's interest and maybe George P Productions.

I e-mailed George P. He appreciated the invite and said he would try to make it. I hope he can but I know he keeps a very busy schedule.

I would doubt he could make it since he will be in Bimini the weekend before our Funament.
