bottom spots

For those that want to hit some bottom spots or know where to trol, here is a heck of a list:

The Pole Spot, bridge Rubble and Liberty Ship are all close in places for good trolling on the kings. The sand dollar and starfish areas are where many of us fished last year and are about 20 miles out.

Plenty of boats running offshore? I have no problem running a 17 20 miles out, but I like it if other boats are around.... just in case we have to step off.

I loaded some Star Fish and Sand Dollar this am and according to site I got #'s from the average was 100'.

Hey Sailor - I was loading Sand Dollar numbers and a couple were missing numbers from 2 different sites (either 6&7 or 7&8) - Any ideas? These were concrete culverts in 124'...the deepest...I like deep water...deeper water equals bigger fish[][8D]

The sanddollar spots are about 120' deep. The big deep water drops are out by the edge probably 180' about 33-35 miles SSW. That is where I am planning on running on Friday. Work? I just spent all morning getting "stuff" from Bass Pro & West Marine. [8D][]

Chuck - I'm not sure about those numbers. They are grouped up so if you find one you can move around and find the others.

Jerry - I'm not sure about anchoring, but the weather should be good. I wouldn't do it without at least 300'. BTW, during one of the Mako tournaments years ago, a local judge ran his 17' to the Nipple for billfishing........ I'm thinking about bringing two extra cans of gas if the weather works out.

Are they still catching Wahoo at the nipple? I heard they had a pretty good year. Depending on weather, we may run out there for a morning bite if we can run 40 mph in calm seas. []

YES! My plan is to leave the dock in FWB around 5 AM and hopefully fun out to the 100 fatham line which is about 8 miles from the nipple and work out that way. I'd REALLY like to have some other boats out there with me. [8D]
