  • Fishing License & Marine Patrol

Just an FYI, the Florida Marine Patrol and other LEO's are VERY thick this year checking boats for licenses and limits. One of my co-workers was stopped in Destin Pass on the south side of the bridge and then again on the North side of the bridge. This is due mainly to the changes in the Red Snapper limits this year, so be prepared to be stopped and checked for a license, saftey gear and fish.

    You have been warned!

And that is way out to sea even...

Last year's funamant we had them pull up beside us while we were trolling 25 miles off shore. I was about to pull off the throttle when they yelled to just keep moving and asked if we had any fish in our boat. I told them no we didn't have any yet. Instead of stopping us to check, they decided to move on..... further off shore....

I had forgotten about that last year. We were even farther offshore at that time and saw them go by. I guess they wanted to see how far out they could go.

Are there any regulations about cast nets in the Destin Inner Harbor or anywhere else inland?
