This is from last week. Recent reports are coming in that fishing offshore is starting to heat up! []

From Half Hitch Tackle Destin fishing report:

Again a good week of fishing, the offshore scene has really kicked off with a bang. There are good amounts of wahoo and dolphin between the nipple and the spur. The Kings have been very good in the broken bottom and the Spanish are good trolling near shore. The cobia bite is still very strong. On the bottom fishing side snapper have been fair and grouper ok, once we get off the full moon they should be back strong. In the surf the pompano bite is very, very good and some sharks. Out on the pier they have caught cobia, kings, pompano, Spanish and hardtails almost every day, the weather looks good all weekend so things should stay very good for a few months now.

I'm am too lazy to dig out chart when I get home...

Approximately how far of a run is it from Destin Harbor to the nipper? The spur?

I bottom fish all the time and would probably get frustrated fishing public stuff in unfamiliar waters, cobia, spanish and king are all strong here and I can catch anytime, but I don't get out for wahoo & dolphin to often.

Chuck, we talked a bunch on tactics and numbers before last years events. Everything should still be the same so have a look.
