  • "T/T Broken Arrow" Mako 171

Well I finally bought a boat and what a pita it was to get it home. The transporter SUCKED. Beyond that, she is home and I am more than happy with it. I have a couple little projects so I thought I would go ahead and make a thread for it. Plan is stainless hardware, rub rail, better electronics, ladder back helm chair, replace teal with starboard, and if its going down to Destin; its going to need a new trailer, on top of some other small odds and ends. The inner cap was poorly repainted somewhere along the line so it might get redone in the future. At least some touch ups. My goal is to match the big boat as much as possible. She is a 1985 Mako 17 w/ a 2006 Mercury 90 4-stroke. Completely solid and the engine runs great. After spending that much money on it; it will take a little while to recoup, so I dont know when these projects will start but will happen as soon as possible. All suggestions and advise are welcome, Thanks

I saw that one but did not send it to you because of the price. Looks like a good boat, and it looks like you got a little sailboat on the way too!

The last couple afternoons I have been working on some small projects. I have replaced some hardware, replaced the broken plexiglass above the gauges, and today I finished making the step pads and hatches. After being on the boat and noticing some of the imperfections in the paint; Ive become more motived to repaint. That will happen next winter but until then I want to make the best of it and use it

I hear a creaking sound of Pandora's box opening. [][8D] Hope you are free later this summer to do some projects.

On your hatches, you might want to put some air vents in them to help keep the console and bow storage dry. Boat is looking GREAT!

Been a while since the last update, but have been doing some work to get ready for the season. I bought a new trailer and went completely through it, repaired some holes in the transom, replaced the swim ladder, and some misc. hardware. After looking further into the boat I found a point in the stringer that needs attention, and the transom is soft. But Im going to use what I have for this summer and the plan is to do a complete rebuilt this winter.

This pic is before all the new stuff
